[Hallicrafters] SX-111

Hi Bill et al;

I don't think a small error in alignment will cause images. Just be
certain that the RF and mixer circuits are peaked for the correct
frequency. Dual conversion is to REDUCE images, not necessarily ELIMINATE
them. A strong enough signal will get through any receiver. I see that
the hi IF is 1650, not all that high. That would put the image 3.3 mc
away.

I get the same thing on my Hammarlund HQ-100A. Good strong SW broadcasts
on 20 meters. I saw on a reflector where someone else was getting them
too. Of course my Hammarlund does not have dual conversion so the image
is only 910 kc away. I don't get them on my Hallicrafters SX-42, which is
single conversion, but with 2 RF stages. You may have to live with them
unless you want to trap them out or use a very sharp low pass filter.
Good luck.
