Subject: [Hallicrafters] Black Beauty replacements.

Hi,
OK, I get the drift on replacing Black Beauties. But what are the
opinions on what to replace them with. I have been using Antique
Electronic Supply's "Orange Drop" SBE 715P and 716P as replacements.
But it has been suggested that I use the 630 volt Mallory, Illinois, or
"no-name" yellow tubular caps offered by AES and not worry about 200
volt, 400 volt, or 600 volt ratings of the caps being replaced (they
are also a little smaller than orange drops). Is polyester vs.
polypropylene an issue for boat anchors?
