Hello,
I didn't find any reference to a Hallicrafters rackmount station
containing a MSR-1A receiver, SBC-1A exciter and a Model 402
synthesizer.
I bought a book "10 Anni di Surplus" written in Italian at the Lake
Constance HAMRADIO fair this June. It shows the station mentioned above
and has a picture of the tag which says:
SHAPE
contract no SO-8774-63
Hallicrafters
Chicago Illinois, USA
a second tag says:
H.F. Receiver
Model MSR-1A Serial no. 250
Hallicrafters
Chicago Illinois
USA
The author Frederico Baldi states that this station came from SHAPE
Supreme Headquarters Allied Power Europe in Belgium.
Unfortunately I don't speak Italian, just a few words to order a dinner
at my favorite restaurant. Nevertheless I was able to decipher that the
station covers 2 to 32 MHz in four bands, modes are SSB, CW, AM and FSK
and that the exciter has an output of 100mW to drive a linear. Frequency
display is by mechanical digital counters similar to those used in the
R-390 receiver. The station appears to be from the 70s using both
"valvole" et transistors.
