[Hallicrafters] HT-32 Colors

Does anyone know the TRUE, ORGINAL colors of the HT-32?  I have a recent

acquisition of an HT-32 and have disassembled it into individual major
parts.
This includes the front panel the raised front panel and the case.
 
Of primary concern is the hinged hood color and the raised front panel
color.  The raised front panel I believe to be flat black.  I received
it with
an ugly gloss black.  Anyone with knowledge on this?
