I would never question your motives and don't know anything
about collecting -- I was just shocked since I have been
researching the possible purchase of a SX-100 very recently
and your sale price was radically higher than any I saw.
I am shocked by what SX-88's and SX-115's sell for but can
understand that because they are so few in number and exceptional
in performance. The SX-100 is so commonly available that I
didn't expect such values for another decade or two!
I am also impressed by your marketing acumen -- you should be
on The Apprentice because you have a unique gift -- and since
I am a strong proponent of the capitalist marketplace I have
no problem at all with you making whatever profit you can.
As for your labors I think that we all would be shocked to
discover the value of the time we pour into our hobbies --
value that is rarely repaid upon resale.
Congratulations! Perhaps I should follow your lead with
my "rated scarce by Ostermans" Hallicrafters S-85? ;-)

I was certainly pleased with the price. However, when I got out the
calculator
and figured the price I paid for the original non-restored receiver, the
shipping to get it to me and the many dozens of hours I spent restoring
it...
I made $8.34 an hour. Not bad! But my day job pays considerably more.
