I don't know about any secret relationship other than the 6EA8 was a tube
that was in favor at the time.

I asked this question awhile back and I am surprised no one knew a answer. I
have a Sonar FS-3023 that has a uncanny resemblance to the SX-117 and
HT-44's. The cabinet structure and color are identical! The chassis is the
same type and it uses many 6EA8's like the HT-44 does. Was there some kind
of secret relationship that Hali had with Sonar?
