[Hallicrafters] 3 prong ac cords?

I believe there has been some threads on how to install grounded power cords on the old Hallicrafters receivers...however after searching the archives I didn't find any.  Can someone refer me to information about the correct manner to do this.  After getting a WHOPPING shock while hooking up the speaker terminals of my SX-16,. I figured I better figure out what I can do to protect this from happening.  I was also touching the chassis at the time.
