Hi Brian
There are a multitude of replacement capacitors that one could use. I happened to have access to Sprage orange drops and decided to use them. In my other rigs I have used the mylars. Take care when doing your SX-42, they are brutal, to say the very least. Document each cap when changing and turn on the unit after replacing each cap, just to be on the safe side. Aside from that you will have a wonderful radio that will give you a lot of listening happiness. Good luck and keep us posted.
