One possibility is the image. If your IF frequency is 455 (common) The
image will be 910 kc away from the desired signal. Usually the LO is 455
kc higher than the signal, running at 14.455 kc, causing the image to
appear at 455 kc above that at 14.910 kc. The image should be a lot
weaker than the desired signal. Check with your manual to see what the IF
frequency is and whether using hi side or low side injection. The image
will be 2X the IF frequency on the other side of the LO. If using lo side
injuction the image will be at 13.090. Sometimes a radio gets misaligned
and the image is on the wrong side. I doubt it is a harmonic as it is not
a multiple of the LO frequency. Good Luck.
