My only run in with Joe was on E-Bay. Of course I didn't know who it was at the time. But, he has some pretty deep pockets to buy anything he wants. I lost out on some great James Millen equipmenmt but, it wasn't so painful loosing to Joe.

Subject: [Hallicrafters] Re Joe Walsh

I spent an incredible evening with the Eagles and good friend Joe Walsh, WB6ACU
Tuesday at the Palace in Auburn Hills, Michigan. What a show they put on! If you
have never been to the Palace, it is worth your time, trouble and cost. I am
told it is the number one venue in the country, and after seeing how they run
that place I know why. Absolutely the best I have ever seen! And being an
entertainer for thirty years, believe me, I have seen more than I can remember
of such places!

Joe and I talked Ham radio, Hallicrafters, his AM station and just plain enjoyed
the heck out of each other for the brief time we had together. He is one
terrific person and a credit to the human race. Fantastic performer who can make
a guitar do everything but walk off the stage unassisted, and even though I am a
professional Magician/Illusionist, I would not bet he could not do that too!
What a showman. If the Eagles are in your area, SEE them! They are as good as
they ever were, in my opinion, the best they have ever been.

Always a thrill to meet a voice one has talked to on the air and to share a few
moments of live conversation without somebody yelling "Contact!". (Chuckle)

This was my first trip out, other than to doctors, since the colon cancer
surgery and bowel resection two months ago yesterday. After getting permission
from the surgeon, I did walk on the treadmill for eight days prior to the
concert. That helped. However, the Palace is BIG and even though I got the red
carpet treatment there, I still did over 200 steps and walked several miles. I
am still in so much pain that blinking my eyes hurts! But meeting Joe was worth
it, the concert was just a bonus.
