They aren't big any more, but Mouser definitely has
filter caps up to 500 volts at the values necessary.
Any higher voltage original caps were actually 2 caps
in series in the same cardboard tube although they
said "700 volts" or something similar on the outside.
The modern electrolytics are much closer in tolerance
than the old ones and are about 15 to 20 percent the
size of the old ones. Old capacitors had a tolerance
of -50/+80 percent. The new ones come in either +/-10
or +/-20 percent. Those in the 20 percent range work
fine and cost less than half of those in the +/-10
percent range.
I use them all the time in repairing boat anchor
equipment. The newer capacitors certainly do not
"look like" the older ones, but they definitely work.
In fact, they work better than the originals.
