[Hallicrafters] Hallicrafters/Echophone EC-1

I'd like to hear from anyone who has information on the 
Hallicrafters/Echophone EC-1 Commercial receiver.  I am looking for notes on common problems, 
repairs, modifications, schematic errors, stability issues, repainting/lettering, 
dial cover refurbishment, and your restoration efforts in general.  In other 
words, just about anything you would be willing to share.
