Please join us on Sunday November 16th for the Hallicrafters Collectors
International 20 meter Net. It will commence with the Pre-Net frequency flush at
12:45 PM EST, (1745 UTC). However, I will be on the air hurling electrically
charged particles over the polar caps from noon onward! So come extra early and
hurl with me!
The Net proper, is it ever improper?, will begin right after the late great
trumpeter Al Hirt's rendition of 'Taps' for Bambi and all of his deceased
descendants now strapped over the hoods of foreign made cars with antlers poised
over the radiator, a cross your heart Playtex bra dangling from one spike and
two glassy eyes staring straight ahead with a glazed look of shock like the
spectators when the circus fat lady's girdle snapped in half killing four and
injuring dozens!
The frequency will be 14.293 Mhz usb+/- for key clicks, mike splatter and the
disgusting sound of my neighbors four French Poodles practicing farting 'Granny
Got Run Over By A Reindeer' in four part harmony! And you thought those barking
dogs were horrible? This really stinks!
Show up early with a big hammer to help me nail down the frequency, lest some
certificate seeker tries to trample my triodes into homeless atoms by screaming
"CQ Contest" through an imported box of rice crispies with over 1500 watts per
serving and compressed crunch in excess of 100% of the daily requirement. If you
have a vintage HF amplifier that dims the streetlights when you key it, warm
that hernia generating giant up and let's toast some silicon flakes until the
only thing you can serve them with is evaporated milk! So be there early, drop
anchor and let's keep them glowing until its time to drag the Net and catch us a
fresh mess of radio waves to deep fry with RF and serve up with our best silver
platedhardware.
I hope to hear many of you tomorrow. Forget that business about speaking softly
and carrying a big stick. Shout out that call sign and drop a boat anchor on
the toes of those who dare to tred where we trod! "See my finger, see my thumb?
Look out frequency cause here Hallicrafters comes!"
