Hi again Roger.

I just looked in my HT-33A manual and there are only 4 VR tubes on the 
schematic. The photo in the manual is shot from a different angle, but it appears 
that there is a grommet in one of the left over tube holes with several leads 
coming out of it. I can't tell where they go from the photo.  Additionally, 
viewed from the front, there is an empty hole in the chassis to the immediate 
right of the plate coil. There is another home immediately forwatd of that with a 
grommet and more leads coming out of it. Hope this helps.
