Please join us on Saturday November 15th for the Hallicrafters Collectors
International 40 meter Net. The pre-Net portion will commence with Taps for
Bambi and friends at 12:30 PM EST, (1730 UTC). Hoof it on in for the official
start of the Net at 1:00 PM EST, (1800 UTC). The frequency will be 7.280 Mhz lsb
+/- for key clicks, mike splatter and the sound of foaming at the mouth Deer
slayers blasting at anything that flicks a speck of white or moves with their
high powered portable cannons capable of turning a railroad boxcar into a filet
of steel with one titanium jacketed steel piercing hollow slug filled with C4
like a Twinkie stuffed with fake banana cream putty! If it hits an unfortunate
Deer, and it is a male, all that is left are the horns to mount on the hood of
their SUV, a hoof to use as a soup bone and a rump roast with a piece of tail
still attached! I am not opposed to hunting as a sport, but too many of these
weapon toteing tree stand dwellers got their gun safety training from the Grand
Theft Auto video game!
I have three Deer 200 feet from my house in the field just south of my Pine
woods. They are closer than normal due to a neighbor who dumped several bushel
baskets full of carrots there for them to feed on. He is not a hunter, just
likes to watch them. A Doe and two large Fawns. This is a residential area, the
wooded area is land locked, no houses directly east, but within two hundred feet
in all other directions. No rifles are allowed in this part of the state. There
is no hunting of any kind allowed in the woods or field, as it is way too close
to houses and places humans lives in danger. The Department of Natural
Resources, DNR, has been put on notice about the presence of the Deer and
potential danger to nearby residents. They ignored all requests for assistance
from concerned/worried neighbors.
Hopefully nobody gets so incredibly stupid at dawn tomorrow morning as to start
shooting out back, but I would bet somebody does. I hope none of the slugs come
my way, if so, perhaps they will trim the top of the GAP Titan off and improve
its overall performance!
Here's hoping to hear you tomorrow and not a fire fight as fleeing Deer trample
my antenna farm into a wire wound cow pie!
