[Hallicrafters] Special Saturday 40 Meter Kids Day Net

Please join me on Saturday June 21st, the first official day of Summer, for the
HCI 40 meter Net. Because Kid's Day begins at 1800 UTC, (2:00 PM EDT), all
youngsters are welcome to check on in and get a W9WZE QSL card. (While they
last!) If I run out, a QSL from W8DBF will be sent instead. Not as historical as
the late William Halligan, Sr.'s call sign, but I am definitely more handsome
and absolutely more tricky! And that aspect of my character is no illusion!

The pre-Net, that is the portion where we talk before it is officially time to
talk, begins at 12:30 PM EDT, (1630 UTC). The Net officially commences at 1:00
PM EDT, (1700 UTC). If you can not tell time because your digital watch is only
displaying strange Oriental symbols and making chirping sounds like a Japanese
Beetle, tune in WWV to check the time or if you can't figure out the difference
between GMT and UTC using the digital counter, AKA fingers and toes, then pick
up the telephone and call time! Actually, you need to press the numerals on the
touch tone keypad to get the time, simply shouting "TIME" into the mouthpiece
does not work since the live Operator was replaced with a relay and some chips
from the Silicon Valley you can not eat.       	
	
Hence the oldies tune by Freddie 'boom boom' Cannon, 'Transistor Sistor'.
Remember that one? She got a snoot full of high octane racing fuel from the lake
exhaust pipes and accidentally chewed off the corner of her portable transistor
radio. Only AM on most transistor radios in those days of the sixties! After
that, every time she opened her mouth the jingle for a commercial issued forth.
If she kissed you, you could hear the weather report echoing between your ears.
If she went to the beach wearing a bikini, you could change the radio station by
pressing her belly button! That presumes she did not grab your finger and snap
it off like an overly dried pretzel as you aimed for her naval! If she drank a
Coke with lots of carbonated water in it and burped, sometimes a piece of a cold
solder joint would issue forth. And all these years you thought that she lost
part of a silver filling in a molar!         	
	
The frequency will be 7.280 Mhz lsb+/- for key clicks, mike splatter and where
to write for a detailed diagram of the girl with the transistor in her shorts!
Well it is much better than a fungus in her thongs!  	
	
I hope to hear a lot of you tomorrow, well, make that later today. It is now
June 21st. What time does Summer officially start anyhow? Is it true that
Transistor Sistor loaded her bra with silicon diodes? BYO VOM and do a
continuity check at your own risk! You might end up with 'tilt' lights flashing
in both of your eyes like a pin ball machine at the arcade somebody tried to
stuff a Canadian quarter into!  	
	
If you do not have a child to bring, then borrow or lease one from the
neighbors.
