Hi Al.
Yes, they're the RF amplifiers.  Oh, I could do an alignment without
replacing them, but I have found that on occasion tube replacement in the RF
amplifier stages can affect alignment of those stages, especially at higher
frequencies.

    The 6AG5's are probably the 1st & 2nd RF amps, at least they are in the
SX-42, so probably the same.  They'll keep the gain low if they're weak, but
shouldn't bother the alignment.
