[Hallicrafters] SX-101 BCI on 160

Hello, everyone!

My SX-101 (Mk1) is experiencing broadcast interference on 160 meters.

I'm picking up a station in Peoria, IL (several hundred miles distant) that is transmitting on 1470 KHz, and that station is present across the entire 160 meter band. The interference is strong enough to QRM some of the modest signals on the band.

Switching antennas does not help. I also tried the same antennas on my SX-28A and the interference did NOT appear, so I think I can rule out rectification?

I purchased the rig several years ago and am just now able to incorporate it into my shack. I'm going to try adding an antenna tuner tonight to see if that filters out the offending crud. Even it if works, though, I'd like to tackle the cause of the problem.

No, I have not yet examined the schematic to see if there is any kind of filter or choke. Like most of us, the time to explore such issues is in short supply, so I thought I'd tap the collective for advice before diving in on my own.

Thank you, in advance, for any advice or insight!
