I've got an SX-62A so its not an exact match to yours and has a low ohmage
speaker tap; however, you should still be able to hear weak audio from the
500 ohm output to the 3.8 ohm speaker. An easy fix might be to find a 500 to
4 ohm audio transformer. I'd be tempted to try a small filament transformer
for the step down if I already had a few on hand until I could get an audio
type. Or try for a 5000 ohm to 4 ohm transmformer.
You could put a 500 ohm resistor across the audio output and then drive an
external audio amp.
I've not yet had to do any repairs but there are manuals etc. on BAMA.
