When I was 16 (1975), I disassembled a transmitter for parts.
It was an HT-19.
I've now decided to try to correct the sins of my youth....and I need help.
I seem to STILL have most of the hard-to-find parts, allbeit in various
stages of disrepair.....chassis, cabinet, front panel, meter, etc. I have
a reproduction schematic.
What I need are various detailed photographs of both the top and bottom of
the chassis to use as a guide for reassembly. I do not have the dial and a
detailed photograph of that would be of great help, also. (a scan of the
dial would be even better, but that is WAY too much to ask)
I'm also looking for a junker HT-18 (early or late model) for some
mechanical parts for the VFO.
BTW.....does any one have an EARLY model HT-18? I know from my memory of
the HT-19 dial that the glass dial on the late model HT-18 does not match
the HT-19......however, I do not know whether the dial for the early model
HT-18 matches.....if there was an HT-18 dial that matches the HT-19, the
dial would have only 5 lines, one for each band.
I guess I can call this a restoration.....many people disassemble a rig
completely to restore it...I just waited 28 years between disassembly and
reassembly :-)
Thanks and 73
Gary
