Hi,

With all other factors being equal, and the ready availability of a 240V 
circuit, I would go with the dual primary voltage tranny. The rig will need 
at least a 20 amp DEDICATED circuit at 120V which would tie up an entire 
circuit in the average shack.
A 15 amp 240V circuit is easy to install if there is access from the breaker 
box to the shack and it frees up the 120 V circuit for other things.  Note 
that if the shack is in the average room, several of the convenience outlets 
are normally on a single 15 amp circuit wired with #14. There is no way to 
increase this to a 20 amp circuit unless the wire size is increased to at 
least #12.
