[Hallicrafters] SX-28 front panel color

Well, I'll jump in agn,
Joe's pix show the problems with pix. The top one of the SX-28 sure
looks like a black panel to me, the lower one sure looks blue. The BC-779
panel varies, but is lighter (bluish/greenish???) than they usually are (as
mine is). Joe's description of his panel, (grey undercoat, black top?)
might indicate a previous repaint. Most, if not all, of the SX-28's that
I've seen in person, or in pix, do show reflections from the leather finish,
(which is in the metal, not like paint induced wrinkle/crackle) and can make
it look gray. (the epay fotos are a good example of that)
All paint changes over time, we don't really know what it looked like
when it came out of the factory. maybe the best we can do is paint it as we
think we'd like it to be. Cabinets - panels, same problem.
(the other panel I mentioned earlier does appear to be nickel plated,
not chrome, probably was painted & stripped.)
