The HCI Saturday March 1st 40 meter Net will be held as scheduled. The pre-Net
commences at 12:45 PM EST, (1745 UTC), and the Net proper at 1:00 PM EST, (1800
UTC). The frequency will be 7.280 Mhz lsb +/- for key clicks, mike splatter and
the sounds of relays chattering like a half frozen Squirrel on uppers trying to
power crunch aHickory nut frozen as solid as a steel ball bearing!

March 1st will mark the end of my fourth year as the NCS for the Saturday 40
meter Net. I have not missed a single one of them either, that is 208
consecutive Nets. Hence, perhaps it is time for somebody else to sit in the NCS
hot seat instead of me. When the Net was first initiated by those who created
it, it was not intended to be a one person operation, nor should it be. Too much
of any one or anything can lead to stagnation. Hence, it may be time for a
change.

Let me state clearly, that being NCS is not an ego trip for me. It is a lot of
work, volunteer hours and the commitment of every Saturday for four years. I did
it because I enjoyed it and because it needed to be done. It is demanding,
tiring and cuts into ones personal free time. I believed then when I was asked
to do it, and I still believe now, that it is a worthy cause and needs to be
continued for as long as anyone lights up the tubes in their Hallicrafters to
check in.

Hence, it is decision time.

If any of you would like to become the regular Saturday HCI 40 meter Net NCS,
please contact me. I will resign and the job will be yours.

If nobody is willing or able to take the responsibility and make a commitment to
be the NCS, I will continue on in that capacity for another year if the Net
participants desire me to do so. Your call gentlemen, so speak your mind.

Here is hoping to hear many of you on the air tomorrow.
