[Hallicrafters] Cleaning an SX-99 cabinet

While we're on the clean-up topic again, I have a related, but non-Hall (but
yes boatanchor) question:

I recently acquired a B&W 5100. The friendly freight carrier drop kicked it
off the truck and crunched the corner of the transmitter, broke some tubes,
etc.No other apparent damage (altho they continue to screw me around on the
ample extra insurance purchsed....that's another rant & rave). Well, the
local body shop pounded out the crumpled corner for $50, however some of the
paint (grey base, and white trim) was inevitably cracked off. The effected
area is perhaps two square inches, plus a few linear inches of the white
trim. The metal is bare right now, has not yet developed oxidation, and
needs to be painted.

I do not wish to repaint the whole panel, but need to protect the metal and
hopefully do a half decent job matching the paint. Ditto on the white trim,
which will be even more difficult, but probably owrth a try.

Any suggestions on paint selection and method of application?

Thanks and 73
Dan
