Brad--Re the SX-101 BFO. A common failure is are themica caps on the bfo
coil. Can we assume that you have changed out the
"black beauty" caps on the 6SC7 plate and grid if there is onr there.
To further trouble shhot the circuit, remove the knob and rotate the slug
screw-carefully- to see if it is so far off that it is out of normal
adjustment. As the schematic shows, this is a tapped coil and continuity
must exist from all terminals to another.
There is a possibility that the coil is open, in that case it is not
repairable unless the break is at a terminal.
The potting compoud used can over time fractre the wires. I have a choke
from an SX-71 that should work..
