Hi Scott,

I found your observations concerning chassis cleaning most enlightening & 
will be interested in following your progress. I am in a similar situation, 
having recently acquired an S-40B that I plan on restoring. 

I enjoy the chatter on the Hallicrafters net & will occasionally insert my 2 
cents worth. I find the restoration tips particularly valuable.

Concerning my S-40B, I am in need of a main tuning knob (Hallicrafters P/N 
15A048 or 15A047, also used on S-38's & a number of other models) and a 5" PM 
speaker (Hallicrafters P/N 85B050 or 85C043, equivalent to a Jensen ST-104). 
If anyone on the net has anything like these for sale, I would appreciate an 
email.
