[Hallicrafters] S-38B Hum

Just finished replacing the 4 filter caps in a S-38B. Set works fine but when I adjust the AFG knob it brings up a hum level. Remove my hand and the hum goes away.  Currently powering the radio through an isolation transformer.  Has anyoine experienced this "hum"  or is it a characteristic of the radio.  Thanks.  Joe k7mks
