[Hallicrafters] Hallicrafters wrinkle paint finishes

If you repaint a hammertone finish the hammertone will
be covered up! Most of this type of finish is in the
color differences and not in the texture.
For "crackle" finishes I use an overspray of
Rust-Oleum American Accents Stone Creations paint.
The gray color works the best (there are several
different colors available). You have to get a "feel"
for just how to apply this paint, but when done
carefully the texture is a very good wrinkle. After
the texture paint dries you then spray the correct
color over it.

I would like to ask if anyone has gone to the
hammertone finish. I had thought of doing this and
then topping it off with the correct Halli color. Any suggestions.
