I would really like to hear from both sides of the "originality" fence
on this one. I picked up another SX-32 that has not been touched in any
way, no mods and no messing around. I'm certain the radio has not
operated in many years.

Unless  you are maintaining a radio technology museum, the radio was
designed for use. Had it been in continuous service, things would have
worn out, tubes would have to be replaced, and so on.

A bad restoration will be a disaster, and a good restoration will make
the radio useable. If you really want to "Preserve the Originality" take
a lot of close up photos and save to old parts.
