Well i am still wondering about the above statement. how in the world does
being political correct make it correct to lower ones knowledge or what is
required to been know to obtain and education. Is that why we are putting
out of our schools kids that can not tell you what two countries border
the U.S.
let along answer a harder question like what two oceans border Africa.
the words" political correct" are the cop-out of modern man .

I spent 10 years teaching amateur class's in KY. I did NOT teach questions
and answers like 99% of the class's are today. i used the Ameco Theory
Book. and you had to learn how to use Ohm's law. I never taught a novice
class i tried to get all my students to take the General Test. yes some of
them had to take the test 2 or 3 times but why not how many of us who
really learned out of a theory book did not have to take a test over. i
took the advanced twice in front of the FCC. but i did not give up and say
I can not learn it. Yes there are a few Elmers left not many i am sad to
say. But what i found was that as the FCC and the ARRL worked to make it ez
to get a ticket and people like Bash books ect. put out the "just memorize
these questions" books that the new hams did NOT want to learn theory let
alone code.

We here i have to different with you somewhat. 2 mts is close to being a
glorified CB band. it is not any ways near as bad as our 10 mt band is
today. all one has to do is listen to the 10-4's and the "personal here is
" " my 20 is " " or the one i really like is " my antenna is on the flat
side" i think everyone know what i am talking about. and to tell the truth
we are the cause of that. we teach the Q&A class but we Never give a class
in how to operate on the ham bands. we just let them go and bring the ways
of their past with them. how many of you have every informed a new ham (
nice and politely) the proper why to carry on a qso ? . no i guess we just
let it ride as they end a qso with us by letting us know they are qrt and
on the side.
but again this is just MHO and (no it is not the electronics unit of measure )
and to be quite frank i really do not care if i am ever "political correct
" ill just stay and old fart .
