[Hallicrafters] SX-100 S Meter

I'm finishing up a restoration job on my SX-100.  I have a problem with the S-Meter that I hope someone can help me with.  The S meter seems to work fine with the AVC in the off position.  When the AVC switch is turned on, the S meter goes dead.  Any ideas out there?  Thanks!Wayne K7NCE
