Be there, Saturday April 12th for the HCI 40 meter Net! Yep, it is once again
time to skim the scum off the old frog pond out back by the Pine woods. One just
never knows what sort of debris gets in there over the Winter. Everything from
half biodegraded pine cones to decaying apples that somehow migrated from the
Delicious apple tree 150 feet away to ruptured condoms that the nine year old
boy down the street steals from his older brother, fills with water and uses as
water bombs! Got to get the water clear and clean, with no caffeine, so the
little Tadpoles can grow up to have a deep voice. Otherwise they croak, float
bloated belly up and I have to skim them off with my small block Chevy powered
wet/dry vacuum.
The pre-Net will commence with the walk around the pond perimeter trash pick up,
those things called rice boxes, and I am not speaking of cereal, at 12:45 PM
EDT, (1645 UTC). Then the Net proper kicks off with the unbridled throaty roar
of my Dodge powered 383 cubic inch roto tiller to rid the sandy shore of
unwanted weeds, neighbors and pets with bad bowel habits at 1:00 PM EDT, (1700
UTC).
The frequency will be 7.280 Mhz lsb +/- for key clicks, mike splatter and the
joyous sound of thousands of green amphibians happily scrubbing seasonal
environmental pollutants off the Lily Pads and Water Crocuses.
Join us for some Hallicrafters facts, fun, fibs and fellowship. I hope to hear
those things that still go glow in the dark tomorrow, so be there and keep those
capacitors charged. Hear you then!
