Thanks all for your comments on power supply temperatures. It seems
the discussions quickly turned to line voltages and away from
transformer temperatures. I've measured the temperature of my audio
amplifier several times after hours of operation and it gets to 124
deg. F (51 deg. C) which is hot to the fingers. I was just looking for
a simple answer - is that hot, cool or normal.
Further looking in catalogs has uncovered the following for power
transformers:
Allied - rated at 221 deg. F (105 deg. C) for continuous operation.
    Stancor - the same.
    Thordarson - 221 deg. F (105 deg. C) for maximum operating
temperature.
    Hammond - insolation rated to 266 deg. F (130 deg. C).
Don't put your fingers on anything that is 221 deg. F. Thanks again.
