[Hallicrafters] SX-101A Receiver Problem

Are you "muting" the receiver or letting it "run" when
you are transmitting?  If you are not "muting" the
receiver, I would definitely try that.  There are
appropriate connections on the back of the receiver
for this.  You use a normally closed set of relay
contacts to place the receiver in "operating"
condition (with the power switch in the "standby"
position).  When you transmit, those contacts are
"opened" by the activation of the realy and the
receiver is muted, thus protecting the various
circuits from overload.
