Hello all
It looks like a SX-71 will be wending it's way out here to California next
week. As this set will be a definite "keeper" and I intend to put a LOT of
listening hours on it I plan on doing a complete electrical refurb of it, to
include a complete recap etc. (I've already bought replacement 'lytics in
anticipation of it)

The set is supposed to be in working condition so I don't anticipate any
major problems (and I've done a lot of radios). However, many of these old
radios have known problem areas that are potential pitfalls to the unwary
individual poking around in their innards.

Does the SX-71 have any of these known weak points or areas that I should
pay special attention to? Anything that I should be aware of before
starting in on it? I plan on doing a "refurb" using new, quality parts, not
try to "restore" it to factory specified (and leaky ;-) original type
capacitors etc.
