[Hallicrafters] Need Replacement S-Meter for S-76

OK BOB,

Just saw your other posting to the reflector.  My advice is to replace all 
the black beauties regardless of how good they look.  They are time bombs 
with lit fuses and down the road will cause a lot of grief.  Any bad looking 
papers should be replaced right off and I would do the same with any coupling 
and bypass paper caps, also.  Resistors have a habit of changing values in 
these old sets so check anything in the oscillator circuit especially.  You 
may find that replacing caps will help a lot alone, but resistors can look 
good and be way off in value.  I would rather have a set working to specs 
than to worry about having non original parts underneath where no one can see 
them.  If ypu are really particular, those replacements can be "repackaged" 
to look like the originals, but it it a time consuming labor of love.
