I don't know specifically but around the last national election the PO
was doing a lot of image-building advertising about all there new
services and prices that beat the competition.  An impertinent
newscaster pointed out that all the services they mentioned were farmed
out.

I have heard that FedEx is contracted to handle all the priority
packages 
from USPS.  Don't know how true this is or to what extent, but there is
now 
a fedex drop box right next to the entrance to our post office.  This is
a 
federally owned one, not a contract one.  Anyone have the real story????
