My turn.

This works.

Go to your local Home Depot or Lowes and pick up a package of foam boards for
about $5.00. There is more than enough there for one large and one small
receiver, depending on the size of the box. Take a panel and cut it to the
size you need. Then press it gently on the front of the receiver with just
enough force so that the knobs and switches make an outline in the foam.
Take a hobby knife and cut out the outlined areas, allowing a slight bit of
extra clearence. Place this board over the front of the unit. If any knobs
stick through, do the same thing again. Place foam board on the bottom of the
box. If it is really heavy, use 2 layers. Put the item in the box and fill
in the sides and top with more foam board. A razor knife may be used to
score the boards and then they will break on the score when bent away from
the scored area. Place the first box inside a second box which has been
prepeared as above. Survival rate with this method is excellent.

Good luck and 73,

John, W4AWM
