Okay,
Here it goes. The latest TM dated October 1952 shows the BC-610 at 401
pounds. Add the BC-614 speech amp, the tuning units, the PA coils, (I have
two full sets), the BC-939A or B tuner, and the BX-34 crystal box and
crystals. That is where the final total 640 pounds comes from.
I have to admit that it sure "FEELS" like the 610 alone is over 600 when
you pick it off the back of the truck and carry in each deck separately,
then the frame, then the side panels. All chassis' and frame are steel.
Anyway, it really isn't important!
I had always hesitated checking into the net as it is a SSB net, and all
I have is AM. I finally bit the bullet and did it. I don't regret it one
bit, BUT do apologize to anyone that may have gotten bothered by this.
I won't be able to do it as often as I'd like, because I have started
the "road show" with my job. I am running from airport to airport checking
airport security. Friday night I received "direction" to be at LAX - Los
Angeles International Airport on Monday. Gee, I wonder why?????
Bob - N0DGN Craf-T-Bob (Because I love Hallicrafters!)
