Remember to ice down your favorite operating chair, warm up those things that
still go glow in the dark, and join with us for the Saturday July 6th HCI 40
meter Net. Provided we can get the air, the pre-Net will begin at 12:30 PM EDT,
(1630 UTC). The Net proper will commence at 1:00 PM EDT, (1700 UTC) The
frequency will be 7.280 Mhz lsb +/- for key clicks, mike splatter and the sound
of bottle rockets bursting in air as neighbors continue to celebrate the
holiday.
I will be on the air at noon, should anyone wish to join me.
If the problem with the east coast group parking on the frequency from 9:00 AM
EDT onward persists, we may need to find an alternative frequency for the Net.
Last Saturday I was told I was wiping out "half" the forty meter band. Darn! The
Icom 756 Pro and Ameritron AL82b must be looser than a Goose dining on milk of
magnesia! However, a quick by the guys on ECARS verified I was not doing any
such thing. Makes one wonder what the people hearing this incredible splatter
are using for a receiver. I have used crystal sets with better rejection than
they appear to have. (grin)
I hope to hear many of you tomorrow.
