Hi Ken,
    I think i've seen several HT-18's on ebay, have bid on some, but dont'
really need one.  Thought it'd be a nice VFO for some other BA.
    I'm confused abt something else.  I use Outlook Express, as supplied
with Win.  It used to have a box for newsgroups over in the folder box, I
think.  But don't have it anymore after things crashed & I re-loaded.  It
made it easy to get the NG's, now I don't know how to do it manually.  I
was watching 2 or 3, BA stuff.  I can't find any help from the MS stuff (no
surprize) or on a web search.  Any suggestions?
        I've got more stuff breaking than I can fix, the old MTBFailure
shorter than MTBFixes.  I've been doing some "cleanup" mech/elec stuff on
the GSB-101 amp I got a few wks ago, thought I had it squared away for a
while, but yesterday on the VSB net the HV stayed on when I switched it
off.  Welded switch I figured.  Pulled it apart again, yes welded contacts.
I tried to repair the switch, but it went ZAP after several operations (b4
closing up at least).
    Plus,  I knew the TR-7A had some problem with output, but tried it
early Sun. PM, it got 100w+ on 40-160, abt 60 on 20, 20 on 15, 5-10 on 10.
Figured I could use it on the 40m Drake tech net at 4PM & ask opinions on,
"is it an ALC problem or PIN diodes?".  But at 4PM it had abt 5w
out on all bands, so I never got there.
    Let us know when you want to go out for dinner again when you're down
here.  Pat's always open for any reason to go out, and that's a good one.
