While there is some buying and selling that takes place on the
hallicrafters mailing list, most of the folks on this list are
collectors and are generally in love with their halligear and not
usually interested in parting with it. In other words, your
expectations of this list are misguided. There are much more
appropriate, and more likely productive, places to search for an HT-18.
I would suggest that you join the boatanchors list on QTH.NET and place
your request there. Also consider USENET's rec.radio.swap newsgroup.
Additionally, you might have success by placing a want ad on one of the
following:
http://swap.qth.com/
http://bro.net/barc/swap/
http://www.hamrad.com/~john/hamtrade.htm
http://www.kacweb.com/cgibin/viewradioad.cgi
http://members.aol.com/OLRTmag/adsfs.htm

Oh, by the way, if your offer of $1,000 and your granddaughter's
virginity was a serious one, perhaps I could be convinced to turn loose
of my HT-18. On second thought, at my age the $1,000 would be
sufficient.
