[Hallicrafters] SR-Series?

I guess I lived a sheltered ham life but am not real familiar with the 
SR-series (150, etc) Hallicrafters transceivers. Mostly see and read about 
the SXs and the HTs.

Were the SRs not as good as say the SX-117, HT-44 combo? Were there problems 
with the SR-series that made them not as popular? It appears to be very 
similar to the receivers SX-117 or SX-122  layout wise

I found very little on the internet in regards to info about them but would 
appreciate a little education here or point out where I can get this
