[Hallicrafters] Halli merit award

Anyone remember the Hallicrafters merit award back in 1951/52 when the GAVE
away ten S-76 receivers for WAS and also $25.00 cash for all others
contestants. This was for novices. Even Bill Halligan was trying for the
WAS at this time.

I don't actually remember it from being around then, but recently was
reading some old '50s QST copies & saw the ads about it. Seems Mr Halligan,
the chief of the "Worlds Largest Hamshack" wasn't actually a licensed ham
until about 1950. They made an ad or two about that at the time, too.
