[Hallicrafters] SX16 in the UK

Hi Folks

Greetings from the UK.  I have just signed up to this refelctor and it looks 
like a good source of information.  I am restoring a SX-16 that a friend of 
mine acquired.  So far it looks like it is basically working but seems deaf - 
I have carried out the i.f. alignment process and checked the RF side and all 
seem OK.  The problem seems to be either the narrow IF setting and /or the 
crystal - which is an original.  Is it correct that the audio output is 
looking for a high impedance speaker?

  Having never played with a hallicrafters before any advise would be 
welcome.  Other BA at this end include TCS 12 tx/rx, AR88D, GRC-9 and a few 
British bits (KW, Eddystone etc.).
