Do you recommend using a quality tube tester to narrow down the culprits and 
then start tube substitute? I am curious how many tubes testing GOOD actually 
were bad. I could see those testing marginal being more suspect. I have an 
Eico 667 but not really sure of the margin of error in its readings

Regarding tube life, I understand many areas will up the service voltages 
during times of higher demand. Can this be a contributor to skewing tube 
longevity? Ours normally runs about 118 to 120 VAC but has been up to 125 and 
I heard of some hams saying they had as much as 130VAC.

I know when we lived north of Houston we had the opposite problem often with 
brown-outs. I figure this may be just as destructive causing higher than 
normal currents.
