[Hallicrafters] vintage station...

Hi Wayne (and all),

Just a thought... And something I've considered exploring.
I don't know what type of an area you live in but around
here there are a number of Antique shops that allow items
on consignment, and I've seriously thought about taking
some excess (not much at this time) radio hardware there.

Of course if it were capable of 'transmitting' on a Ham
band, I'd have to validate the buyer as a Licensed user.
But that's really not a problem now days :)

In my mind (as flawed as SOME may think it is), this
would accomplish at the least a couple things...

1) It might put these vintage pieces into the hands of
local enthusiasts that you have no idea exist.

2) Akin to #1, might eventually lead to some good LOCAL
eye2eye friendships that would otherwise go unknown :)

You could include a card or label on the equipment with
your contact info (maybe even a freq) where those that
buy these treasures could ring you up and chat.

It's always nicer (in my personal opinion) to sit back
and sip on a 'cold one' with a friend and chat about
radio - than to sit alone and introvert. ;)

It won't be a QUICK SALE! like that (ugh!) Auction Place,
but I guess it all comes down to what's more important,
new friends (with something in common) or money :)

<removing the brainstorm (BS) helmet>

Thanks for the BW -n- 73,
                          Bruce
