Hi all,
This year, GVARC will operate from a new location that is privately owned.
Because it is a privately owned location, we must operate a little
differently than usual. You won't be able to just drop in, as you have been
able to do in previous years. You are all invited to participate but the
number of folks who will be able to participate at any one time will be
limited.
To get the ball rolling, I need you to tell me the following:
1. What days and hours would you like to attend/participate?
2. Do you have any particular kind of participation in mind?
3. What modes would you be able to operate (CW/SSB)?
4. Would you be willing to operate during the period from midnight to 6am?
5. Would you be willing to provide an HF station for the event.
6. Could you bring a laptop computer for the networked Writelog operation?
7. Could you help install equipment (radios, tent, antennas or computers)?
8. Could you help take everything down after the event?
9. Can you help a young visitor participate/learn from the event?
10. Do you have any ideas to offer for the event and our operation?
Please give me your responses to these questions and any other ideas you
have. Please do this as soon as you can and no later than April 15th.
I will then take these responses and create a schedule. I will try satisfy
your desires, capitalize on your offers and skills, meet the objectives of
the event and satisfy the constrains we have on use of the location.
73, Frank
