Hello all!
Just an update on the "Wings and Things" fly in that will be at San Martin
Airport on the 1st and 2nd of May. I have had to hustle to get our old 1947
Super White open cab fire engine to that event. We got it started this
weekend. The next thing to do is put gas in it power wash it and find some
hardy souls who like adventure to come along for the ride. I would need one
person to ride with me and or drive and a chase vehicle to ensure a ride
back home. The best thing would be a mechanic as well just in case. Who
knows we may still be able to get this thing to happen. Any volunteers? The
set up is Friday afternoon. We would try to take it then. Help! Help! It
will be offered for sale. We don't have room for it in the station. It has
the original paint on it and its hard to shine it up but it's an absolutely
beautiful machine wood ladders and all. I am in love with this old engine
and hate to see it go but it needs protection from the weather. Not fair to
keep it on the mountain. What a collectors dream. Let me know if you know
someone who can give it a good home. It would be great for fundraising. If I
only had the time and energy.
