[GVARC] GVARC's new generator

Hi all, 

GVARC has replaced our broken generator with an ultra-quiet 3KW one from Honda. See here for details - http://www.hondapowerequipment.com/eu3000.htm

It's so quiet that we could have it in the operating tent (we won't). It runs for 7.3 hrs at full load, 20 hours at 1/4 load. There was no comparison with Honda's next model down, (let alone the Genrac)!

The purchase was made by unanimous decision of all GVARC officers.
 
One unit should be plenty for field day. We'll think about a 2nd depending on our needs.

The price was $1914 for 3KW unit. GVARC had $7,100 in the bank.

For now, it's being kept in my shop. It should be kept where it can be accessed easily for emergency response. Other volunteers for housing it are welcome.
